The Suicide Club creative director Cindy Kiota updates you on what not to miss this month and also shares her personal favourites in the restaurant and at the bar.


“You’re probably going to some – or a lot of – festivals this month, but if not, let us be your first choice as you plunge into that ultimate summer feeling. We have so much going on and besides, during these hot days there’s no better place to be than on our rooftop, where the cool city breeze freshens you up. At The Suicide Club we live outdoors this month, with the luxury of having dinner outside as well. And since all of our dishes are to share, it doesn’t matter if an extra friend or two stops by. Head towards the bar if you’re in need of some cool drinks to fight the heat and we’ll make sure you taste the vacation vibes. Cocktails and dinner under the stars, with this view, just makes you feel on top of the world.”

Nights to remember

“Don’t think our rooftop parties are on summer holiday! We have a great month coming up with unforgettable and divers Saturdays and a bunch of Sunday Cloud8’s we’re more than proud of. And who knew live performances sound even better with a burning barbecue next to it.”

Saturday 21 July: Rock the Boat

“After Amsterdam, London and Berlin, I’m so proud this party is coming to Rotterdam again. It took me months to convince them The Suicide Club is totally ‘rocking the boat’, but I always knew a Rotterdam edition would be a huge success. And last May, it definitely was. Now it’s time for the second round of extraordinary music and beautiful people.”

Sunday 29 July: Cloud 8 Black

“This Cloud8 is personal, because Black is my very own concept in which I try to connect white & black, electronic & African music. These two worlds blend perfectly and always give the most surprising sounds. We bring in different musicians with their own instruments, they start jamming together and I will be behind the turntable too. Also try our shoeless area on the black carpet. Dress code is obvious…”

Taste of July

“I hardly can think of anything better than having dinner in the open air, on a long table together with friends and family, enjoying the view while the sun fills the sky till deep into the night.

This is dinner at The Suicide Club in July. For some, summer is only for salads or other light and cold dishes. Not me! Just when it’s hot and sweaty I crave for some ‘real’ food. Our summer menu has a – well, several actually – dish I just can’t resist. Our Beef in Beijing with spiced hoisin, spring onion and pickled vegetables is to die for. Every day. And as our bartenders create a cocktail to match every dish, for a bite in Beijing you clearly need a Geisha Sour. The raspberry liquor with elderflower and chili bitters is like an unforgettable trip to Asia, but without the long flight.”
